IHSA CLASS 1A STATE XC MEET
The Rebels Girls Cross Country team capped off their wonderful season by finishing 19th in the IHSA Class 1A State XC Meet Saturday (November 3) at Detweiller Park in Peoria. Becoming the first team or individual to participate at the State Meet in Stark County history, the Girls saved their best run for their last meet of the season. Each of the 7 Girls running Saturday set a new career PB (Personal Best) time. As has been the norm for most of the season, Junior Olivia Frail (18:57 - 66th) was first across the finish line becoming the first Rebel Girl ever to break the 19 minute mark. Freshman Ashley Orrick (19:14 - 82nd) was close behind followed by fellow scorers Junior Josie Price (20:18 - 141st), Sophomore Lena Becker (20:53 - 157th) and Sophomore Trinity Shimmin (22:10 - 191st). Sophomore Alyssa Dyken (22:25 - 193rd) and Sophomore Sarah Fairfield (22:57 - 200th) rounded out the team. There was 209 finishers in the Class 1A Girls race from the 25 teams (5 to 7 runners) and 35 individuals who advanced from the Sectionals last week. The Rebels were the 3rd smallest school in enrollment among the 25 teams running for a State Championship. There were 282 schools in Class 1A this year that participated in the Regionals two weeks ago. The 282 schools was comprised of 237 schools with full teams [5 or more runners] and 45 schools with 1 to 4 runners.

With no Seniors on this year's team, the future is looking bright for the Rebel Girls.
Congratulation Girls on a great season!!!
